A comprehensive list of Filipino-owned small businesses to support this Holiday season!
By Abby Pasion and Grazian Moreno
The window between Thanksgiving and Christmas is probably the most impactful time for SALES (and you know Filipinos love a good discount). But while many businesses open their doors eagerly waiting for your hard-earned dollar, many small (and oftentimes minority-owned) businesses will close their doors for good - a terrifying real impact of the ongoing pandemic on our community.
Without the same outpour of community support flooding into local shops or independent creators the same way we do with “prime 2-day shipping,” these small businesses may never be able to bounce back. But just like the care that is poured into a balikbayan box for our loved ones overseas, or the thought that is put into picking out pasalubong for friends when we go on vacation, why not put that same level of mindfulness, creativity and consideration into the way we shop this holiday?
We’ve compiled a list of 30 Filipino-owned shops and creators we hope you’ll consider supporting for all of your gift-giving needs this season - and if you want to see a full list of 100+ businesses to choose from, peep the end of the article!
